High Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) facilitates expansion and provides a cost effective way for implementing a distributed system. HSSI-HES is an absolute encoder that interfaces to newly developed absolute and incremental encoders.
The HSSI-HES has the following features:
- Supports EnDat, Smart-Abs and regular Sin-Cos encoders
- Capable of handling one or two feedback devices of any mix
- Corrects the gain, offset and phase of the analog sine/cosine signals
- Performs Sin-Cos interpolation and provides incremental position
- Provides encoder error protection
- Incorporates index detection and latching of encoder
- 20 kHz sampling rate synchronized with the servo cycle
- Incorporates power-up module identification
